Where:   Town of Wayne Hall, 9772 Silsbee Road, Wayne
For many years, local people would rather derisively comment about a person who said or did something rather odd by saying the person "belonged in Willard."  Willard received its first patients in October 1869 and by 1877 the Willard Asylum had become the largest state mental institution in the entire U.S.  Nearly 6,000 patients are buried in the hospital cemetery.  The facility closed in 1995, causing great economic hardship to the local area.  This presentation is open to the public.  Donations are accepted.  Refreshments will be served.  Call (607) 292-3450 for further details.
